Kesari Chapter 2 Movie Plot
The story begins with the tragic Jallianwala Bagh massacre, where Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer orders British soldiers to fire on a peaceful crowd in Amritsar. Hundreds of innocent people are killed, including the mother and sister of a young boy, Pargat Singh. The British government hides the truth by destroying newspaper reports and falsely claims that the crowd had attacked the army.
The story then follows C. Sankaran Nair, a respected lawyer and member of the Viceroy's Council who has recently been honoured by the British. After the massacre, Nair meets Pargat and advises him to stay away from violence and continue his education. Later, he is told that Pargat has taken his own life. Nair is appointed to investigate the massacre, expecting to support the British version of events. However, law student Dilreet Gill secretly shows him a surviving newspaper that reveals the true scale of the massacre and Dyer's brutality.
Shocked by the truth, Nair publicly condemns Dyer, but the British authorities ignore his objections. Feeling guilty for failing to protect Pargat, Nair decides to file a case against General Dyer and the British government. With Dilreet's support, he begins a determined legal battle for justice.
During the trial, Nair wins an important early victory. In response, Dyer hires lawyer Neville McKinley to defend the British government. McKinley tries to weaken Nair's case by presenting false allegations involving a woman named Martha Stevens. Public opinion turns against Nair, but he and Dilreet uncover evidence proving that Martha was forced to lie. In court, the truth is revealed, restoring Nair's reputation and strengthening his case.
McKinley then changes strategy and accuses Nair of illegally obtaining confidential government documents. Nair is found guilty and removed from the proceedings, allowing the British government to avoid punishment. Disappointed, he returns home, where he receives a letter from Kripal Singh, Pargat's imprisoned father. The letter reveals that Pargat was murdered by British officials and did not die by suicide.
Determined to expose the truth, Nair returns to court. Although his appeal is rejected, he deliberately challenges the court's authority so that the case receives greater attention. During the final hearing, he reveals that the jury's decision was influenced by bribery and presents testimony from the only honest juror. Although Nair is eventually disbarred from practising law, his efforts expose the truth to the public. His courage inspires people across the country, ensuring that the truth about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre can no longer be hidden.
