Prajapati, also known as Praja, is a forest department officer living in Prayagraj with his wife, Aparna, a television reporter. Their peaceful life is disrupted when Aparna airs a news report claiming that politician Gajraj Tiwari's son, Sunny, is in a relationship with a Muslim girl after photos show him with someone wearing a hijab. The report creates a major controversy, and Gajraj begins searching for the mysterious girl.
The truth is that Sunny's girlfriend is Chanchal, a woman Praja knows from Benaras. She had worn a hijab only to hide from local troublemakers. Feeling responsible for the misunderstanding caused by Aparna's report, Praja decides to help Chanchal keep her identity secret. He lies to Aparna about a work trip and accompanies Chanchal around the city so that Gajraj's men will believe they are the couple in the photographs.
However, Gajraj's men remain suspicious and continue following them. To make their act more convincing, Chanchal forces Praja to check into a cheap hotel as a fake couple. Unfortunately, the hotel is raided by the police, and they are arrested for using false identities. Praja's colleague and Aparna's friend, Nilofer, bails him out but threatens to tell Aparna that he has been unfaithful. Aparna later sees Praja chasing Nilofer to explain the misunderstanding and mistakenly believes her husband is having an affair.
Back in Benaras, Praja is assigned to capture a dangerous wild wolf. At the same time, he stages one last public appearance with Chanchal and even announces a fake engagement at a family wedding to protect Sunny's secret relationship. The plan backfires when Sunny misunderstands the situation and kidnaps Praja to question him. During the confusion, Gajraj's men mistakenly think Praja and Sunny are romantically involved and report this to Gajraj. Fearing a political scandal, Gajraj becomes convinced that Praja was actually the mysterious hijab-wearing person seen in the photographs.
In the climax, Gajraj captures Praja, Chanchal, Aparna, and Nilofer at his farmhouse while trying to stop Sunny from running away with Chanchal. Looking for a way out, Praja uses his knowledge of wildlife and imitates the mating call of the rogue wolf he has been tracking. The wolf suddenly appears, followed by Praja's forest department team chasing it. The unexpected chaos allows everyone to escape.
Praja and Chanchal rush to the airport, where Sunny is waiting to elope with her. Gajraj arrives to stop them, but Praja warns him that creating a scene will destroy his political reputation. Left with no choice, Gajraj allows the couple to leave together. Chanchal thanks Praja for helping reunite the lovers, while Aparna realizes she was wrong to doubt her husband and apologizes. The film ends on a happy note with the misunderstandings resolved and Praja's marriage restored.
