Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Movie Plot
Rehaan "Ray" Mehra is a successful wedding planner from Los Angeles who runs Hitched Forever with his mother, Pinky. During a luxury cruise in Croatia, he meets Rumi Vardhan, an aspiring writer from Agra who is travelling alone before her sister's wedding. Ray believes in modern relationships, while Rumi dreams of a classic, lifelong love. Although they have different views, they fall in love during the trip.
After returning home, Ray proposes marriage. Rumi explains that she cannot leave India because she is the only person caring for her widowed father, Colonel Amar Wardhan Singh. With her elder sister soon moving to Canada after marriage, Rumi feels responsible for staying with her father. Realising they cannot find a solution, she ends the relationship, even though she still loves Ray.
Refusing to give up, Ray travels to Agra and joins the preparations for Rumi's sister's wedding. Using his experience as a wedding planner, he helps the family and gradually earns the Colonel's trust. When the Colonel is injured after a sleepwalking accident, Ray stands by the family and proves his care and commitment.
Seeing his daughter's sacrifice, the Colonel offers to move to the United States so the couple can be together. However, Rumi refuses because she believes her father belongs in his own home. Understanding the situation, Ray's mother encourages him to think differently. Instead of asking Rumi to leave her family, Ray decides to move to Agra and continue his life and business there.
At Rumi's book launch, Ray surprises her with another proposal. He promises to stay in Agra with her and her father as a ghar jamai, choosing love, family, and shared responsibility over tradition. The story ends on a hopeful note, showing that relationships can succeed when both partners are willing to make meaningful sacrifices.
