Sam Bernstein is a trusted criminal defense and family attorney. Sam Bernstein has represented clients on felonies, misdemeanors, and traffic tickets in 32 district courts and 10 circuit courts. His practice includes helping people get their driver’s license back, through Secretary of State restoration hearings and circuit court hardship appeals. He has successfully obtained results in divorce, custody, post-judgment family law issues, and in personal protection order hearings. Sam acts as Local Counsel for two out-of-state firms in the Federal Eastern District Court in Detroit. He has also litigated dozens of Plaintiff’s no-fault car accident cases. As an active member of the legal community, Sam is a co-chair of the Washtenaw County Bar Association Criminal Law Section and a co-chair of the Community Liaison position. Previously he served as the Washtenaw County New Lawyers co-president from 2014-2016. Sam was raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, graduating from Pioneer High School and Eastern Michigan University.
